Delivery

All prices are free to collect from our store. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time to collect or for a delivery quote to your area. We can provide quotes to the UK, France, Europe and the rest of the world.

Delivery is usually within 2 weeks, maximum 3 - 4 weeks around busy times of the year or for pieces that are new to the market or in our French store. Please check with us and we will confirm with you.

Cancellation

If you change your mind about a purchase immediately after ordering and before dispatch, you can cancel your order and receive a refund. In this case, please send us a message outlining your decision. There may be a cancellation/handling fee to pay. If your order has already been dispatched, you will need to pay the delivery and return shipping costs.

Returns

We run an online store and viewing in person is unfortunately not an option. Returns can be made up to 14 days after delivery. If you wish to return an item please send us written notification within 48 hours of receipt. We will then arrange for you to return it to us. The item must be returned back in the same state/condition/quality as it left and a full refund less delivery and return delivery costs will be issued.

Goods damaged in transit

It is rare that goods are damaged in transit. The couriers take great care in handling and delivering your orders. Despite good packaging and/or blanketing, occasionally damage may occur in transit and we ask you to adopt the following procedures:

Please always inspect goods thoroughly before signing. Your signature on the courier’s delivery note (paper or electronic) certifies receipt of your order and the condition of the goods at the time of delivery.

No recourse is possible once you have signed the delivery note without checking the goods and, if necessary, without having precisely described any damage on the delivery note or the electronic box. Please note that statements such as "Subject to unpacking" are not valid in the event of a dispute and you will therefore not be able to benefit from any transport insurance.

Before signing the delivery note or the electronic box, open your package and check the goods in the presence of the driver.

If the driver refuses to wait, please write on the delivery note or on the electronic box: "Damaged goods". If damage has occurred in transit, please keep the damaged goods and send us photos by return e-mail within 48 hours indicating that the driver refused to wait. We will discuss solutions with you and take care of the administrative management of the dispute by forwarding your information to the courier.

In the event of damage, describe it as precisely as possible on the delivery note or the electronic box. Unspecified damage or damage to the package (and not to the contents) is not covered by insurance. We will raise an insurance claim with the delivery company concerned and once the claim is settled, any applicable refund will be processed. We are not liable for any damages or loss sustained in transit via third parties.

We remind you that if you have signed the delivery note before checking the goods or if you have accepted the delivery without specific reservations, the transport insurance will not be valid. We cannot therefore accept any complaint in the event of non-compliance with our recommendations.

Payment

Payment for all goods must be made in full before collection or delivery. All prices listed are in sterling. We accept payment by bank transfer in either sterling or euros. We can also accept payments by credit or debit card through this site or by PayPal via the Buy Now Buttons.

Storage

Should you wish us to retain pieces purchased or reserved for more than 6 weeks after purchase date, there will be a monthly fee of £40 on larger items and £20 on smaller items.

If, after a period of 6 months, we have contacted you and received no response from you and the item remains unpaid, we will relist such items for resale and will refund any balance of deposit to you once we have deducted any storage fees you have incurred.

General Information

As with all antiques, there may be signs of wear & tear due to the age of a piece and its history. We aim to describe our pieces accurately - please ask for more description and photos if you would like more information.

Each piece is checked by our qualified restorer with many years of extensive experience in a variety of settings. Some pieces occasionally have signs of historic old woodworm (which has long since disappeared) and is common on old French furniture. Every piece with evidence of historic worm is treated as a precautionary measure, then cleaned and waxed as needed.

The wiring on electrical pieces is usually original (unless stated in the description) and we recommend that each piece is checked and fitted by a qualified electrician at installation.

Please be aware that if you are importing to a non-EU country, you may be charged import tax and duties in your country.
