Antique French Carved Green Man Oak Writing Desk / Table.
 
This impressive solid oak writing desk table in the style of Henri II has generous carvings to three sides.
 
The top has a moulded chip carved outer edge and sits above four drawers all constructed in solid oak with dovetail joints and having fully working brass topped locks and keys.
 
The double-height right-hand drawer contains a small drop-in segmented box and a lockable sealed compartment with a key.
 
The side panels and front drawers are all carved with floral motifs and the central drawer has its original carved handle.
 
This all sits on fabulously carved barley twist legs leading down to a central H stretcher with turned feet.
 
This piece has been checked, cleaned and re-waxed in a traditional finish in our workshop.
 
The desk is in excellent condition throughout with a deep rich patination only achieved over time. Ready to place in the home or office.
