French Antique Exterior Lantern in Steel – Early 20th Century

A characterful French exterior lantern in steel, dating from the early 20th century of simple and sturdy architectural form.

The lantern features a robust metal frame with glazed panels, designed originally for outdoor use on façades, entrances or courtyard walls.

Representing a good example of hand-made metal craftsmanship, it features a spired sloped top with vent holes, fitted to a four sided clear glazed lantern with protective iron bars to each panel.

Below is a tubular base with a fixed steel wall mount.

The lantern has been repainted in anthracite grey, reglazed and rewired, ready to give many more years of service.

The lantern is in working condition. Please note that we would advise that it is tested and fitted by an approved electrician. It comes with light bulb fixing screws and rawlplugs.

The piece is presented in very good antique condition.
