French Elm & Marble Cabinet Louis XVI Style
A striking cabinet featuring a variegated red, white and grey fixed marble top and increasingly rare elm veneered panels.
The wood is a lovely light colour throughout with distinctive patterns to the veneer and attractive brass decoration and drawer pull.
Sitting below the marble is a full-width drawer, which is constructed in oak with a book-matched elm veneered front, which is inlaid with boxwood and walnut stringing lines.
The main door is quarter book-matched elm with a stringing line border and brass door pull. The door leads into a storage space.
The cabinet stands on square tapered legs in solid elm with brass sabot feet.
Overall in excellent condition with only minor age-related marks, the cabinet has been cleaned, re-polished and waxed. A versatile piece that will fit into a variety of rooms.
