Marquetry Jewellery Box Napoleon III
This Napoleon III Marquetry Jewellery Box features a beautifully inlaid marquetry floral design to the top framed by multi-coloured decorative stringing lines.
The outer edge is framed by a decorative ormolu banding.
To each side panel is a central band of walnut inlaid with boxwood stringing lines and a lower ormolu banding at the base.
A decorative ormolu escutcheon surrounds the keyhole. Working lock and key supplied.
The box sits on small turned ebonised feet with felt pads.
The piece retains its original mirror plate with a few age-related markings, framed by an ebonised rounded frame.
Inside the polished wooden exterior are two box dividers.
In very good condition, this is a beautiful storage piece for any room.
