A pair of pretty rush seated chairs from the Basque region of South West France with traditional wheat backs and coloured rush seating typical of this region.

They have turned tapering gadrooned front legs and a pretty shaped frieze under the seat rail.

The chairs are in good condition with historic wear and tear consistent with their age. Both chairs retain great character and benefit from having been checked, cleaned, treated for a little historic woodworm and waxed in our workshop.

These chairs would work well as decorative hall or sitting room chairs.
