Pair French Fire Dogs in Bronze - Ninetenth Century, Empire Napoleon III
A handsome pair of French bronze fire dogs dating from the 19th century, Empire / Napoleon III period.
Beautifully cast in solid bronze, with classical motifs of urns, swags, pineapple finials and floral decoration with fine, crisp castings.
Behind each decorative bronze front is a substantial cast iron leg, allowing the fire dogs to be used to support logs in an open fireplace.
The pair is presented in very good antique condition, having been checked over, sympathetically cleaned and sealed against oxidisation in our workshops.
