A stunning rare rosewood washstand/commode.
The top slides forward slightly as you lift the rounded top lid to reveal a red variegated marble and mahogany washstand base with an inset mirror on underside of lid.
Below there are four drawers all with working locks and keys with brass escutcheons to the front.
The exterior is veneered all over in quarter-matching rosewood and to the front it sits on solid rosewood carved feet.
The mahogany top is a later addition that would have replaced marble.
Some evidence of old woodworm in small areas - the whole washstand has been treated for this, cleaned & rewaxed.
